This year Kitovu Mobile In partneship with GlobalGiving has made tremendous effort to facilitate Community workers and expert clients scale up their visits to reach out to the HIV cancer patients. 22 bicycles were distributed to Community workers and expert clients on a function that was presided over by the Programmes director Mrs. Robina Ssentongo.
Community workers / Expert clients vowed to scale up their effort; and to date significant results have been observed. The 22 Community workers who recieved the bicycles have increased the number of visits by 65%. We have hope that this will even double in future. Clients who can not go to the centres can easly get their medicine refills in time.
Nuwamanya Bonus a client on ART from Kyetume town in Lwengo District narattes the story;
" For the past two weeks i have been down and my medicine '" ARVs" had got finished. I called at the office and it was not yet time for them to come. I am happy that a community worker in charge of my area immediately had to ride a bicycle and collect my medicine in time. "Good people"; says Bonus Nuwamanya.
