Sarah’s dream is to utilize greenhouses to grow enough pesticide-free tomatoes to meet the growing demand, replacing imports with a local product.
Rwanda suffers from rising demand because there is a scarcity of foodstuffs in Rwanda. Further, we still import foodstuffs from neighboring countries.
Using greenhouses to grow quality produce creates jobs for Rwanda’s farmers and gives a locally grown product to Rwanda’s people.
My target is to have 6 greenhouses within the next 3 years so that I can produce more tomatoes to meet the demand on the market. I have a team of 3 gardeners and 3 agricultural specialists who have agreed to work for me once a week.
