Clean Water For Better Lives

By a female, 22-30 years old, in Kakamega, Kenya
Map of Clean water for better lives Water harvesting has of late became one of the major challenges the people from my village Emukaya face. The area is rich in rainfall and other water sources faces faces the challenge simply because they lack the basic commodity and equipments to keep the water safely for domestic use especially drinking. Cabda an NGO dealing with water as a major resource in the area to help those without the capacities to come up together hence assisted in construction of large tanks for keeping water for use. Many of these facilities have been constructed in the village and they are engaging others who didn't take it up. Thanks to the organization for the water I drink today. Read more.

Miracles

By a female, 46-60 years old , in Busia, Kenya
Map of MIRACLES Miracles do happen, but in the case of today one has to be cautiouse of fake pastors who are just greedy for money. In my community it happened that a certain young man by the name Kelly was found to be HIV/AIDS positive. Though he was still healthy, sometimes he would fall sick and again recover. One day he fell sick but it was not as usuall because this time the sickness was persistant. The young man went to a certain pastor who told him to give him Ksh 10,000 so that he would be prayed for and the HIV/AIDS disease would be cured. Kelly did that and he was prayed for.Things seemed to have got well because the moment he was prayed for,he started to be well and for sure he believed without a shadow of doubt that he had been healed and he even refused to get to the hospital and be tested. Three years later he was struck down and so another pastor told him to go for a testing and if found to be HIV/AIDS positive then he advised to started the ARV treatment. Kelly couldn't accept the pastor's advice and thought that the pastor had no faith to heal. So he continued to be sick and months later he died. This was hurting because of how people just choose to die ignorantly because of what they stand for. Poor Kelly. Read more.

To make matters worse i was one of the girls who supposed what happened and then i started the gossiping even worse.Yes i regretted it because that wasn't me.The two girls were so much affected until they reported us to the deputy. How was i even going to explain myself.Atleast for the others but me as a peer guider.how? Why did i even get involved at such.So later on we were summoned to the office and we were really quarelled especially me.I felt it because it was wong on me to do such a thing.Instead of find the problem i was the one creating the problem. It like we had no respect at all.
