I am Sophia Matani, the secretary f Nyuya Women Group in Kakamega Central District. The main purpose of starting our organization three years ago was to instal safe guard measures for women. It believes us to set in place a vibrant framework within which issues of women would be adressed as we also offset the out dated perception on women in the society set up. Through the collective will power women have moved away from the perception that they are the weaker vessels as they show leadership in the society in various forms. Inspired Widows In The Community

I am Dorcas Nambande Chyimaliti of ID number 1198973 and the chairperson of Wajane Self Help Group in Kakamega North District. Due to increased challenges that we face as widows,we decided to begin this organization so as to secure a formidable framework upon which we can handle our affairs.There are numerous issues both economic and social and since starting off in 2010 we have been able to live to the task. We have a vision that would take us far into good progress as we anticipated enough succes out of our projects of paultry keeping,farming etc.We have been able to benefit our members and pay school fees for our children and find that we are inviting real change even to the community.Through poverty reduction,building of a positive self esteem we are getting an empowerment which could be stregthened even further through supported by any well wishers/sponsors which we highly look foward to. A Dairy Animal For Progress

Send a cow(Heifer) project is a project in kakamega which offers cows (dairy ones) for groups or CBOs to help them to have an income generating activity. A few cinditions includind an aare of land, registration etc are demanded and aslso that the monitoring and assessment for the arrival goes on for sometime to ensure that the beneficiary organization does not abuse the offer.
