This project will benefit both directly an indirectly 500 people.it will enable women to become self reliant independent and become out of dependency syndrome which is a cause to rampant gender domestic violence. it will also strengthen the house hold to reduce the house hold poverty plus taking into account that this population is poor, illiterate,marginalized and do not have control over productive resources culturally. The project require $24,624 in total .
The 20 years old violent conflicts in Northern Uganda have forced over 1.6 million people to live in protected camps in Northern Uganda; some people opted to take refuge in other districts a case in point is women of kireka ,kinawataka,namwongo,naguru among others. The conflicts have destroyed the livelihood of the people and with Displacement into the camps, the population has no means of earning sustainable livelihood and depend entirely on relief food and other items from World Food Programme
In achieving the above objectives, NUWECH will undertake the following strategies:- NUWECHI will recruit and train six (06) more community facilitators identified from within the community by help of the Self Help Groups that will be formed. This is to ensure that the SHGs participate in identification and placement of human resource in this project. In implementing this project, Nuwechi intends to reduce vulnerability of women and the poor section of community to Poverty.
