The story of helping the youth baseball program in Moore, OK after a devastating EF5 tornado struck that community, is yet another chapter for us in seeing the healing power that youth sports can have on a community after a devastating event.
Moore, OK could be any town in America. Kids go to school, families go to church, parents go to work. And in a moment, anything can change.
The video we've attached from Fox Sports depicts what role baseball and softball can have on those recovering from an event such as this.
Since 2005, Pitch In For Baseball has been in a position to help kids and communities in need. The idea of becoming "the red cross of baseball" didn't occur to us 8 years ago. In fact, we had no particular plans to be in the disaster relief business. It just so happened that our organization being formed and Hurricane Katrina making landfall occurred within a few days of each other. Since that time, we've answered the call every time a youth baseball community needs assistance and we will continue to do so.
