Below, please find the story of one young woman who was recently rescued and undergoing counseling and vocational training at the Rescue Foundation. Karina’s husband and his sister tricked her into leaving her home country, Bangladesh to go to India, where she was told she would be employed. When she arrived, she was taken to a discotheque and told that she had been sold into prostitution. She was very shocked and started crying but her husband and his sister told her that she would not have any other option so she was forced to do work in sex trade. For 7 months, Karina was moved from brothel to brothel as her traffickers sought to avoid various police raids. On 17th February 2011 Rescue Foundation team went to the police station to discuss the information which was received from the information network of Rescue Foundation about the presence of minor and forcefully girls in the Pawwala Street Red-Light area and also requested to provide police protection and help for the purpose of rescue operation.The police took the brothel owner into custody and successfully rescued Karina and other girls in her same position.

Rescue Foundation received information about the presence of some minor girls in Room No 8 and 10, First Floor, Krishna Building, Pawwala Street Red-Light area, Mumbai for forced prostitution. Immediately, our President Mrs. Triveni Acharya instructed the investigation officers to investigate about the authenticity of the information.
Rescue Foundation’s investigation officers visited Room No 8 and 10, First Floor, Krishna Building, Pawwala Street Red-Light area as a Decoy Customer and confirmed that there are totally 02 minor girls being forced for prostitution in that said place.
On 17th February 2011 Rescue Foundation team went to the D.B.Marg police station to discuss on the information which was received from the information network of Rescue Foundation about the presence of minor girls forced into prostitution in the Room No 8 and 10, First Floor, Krishna Building, Pawwala Street Red-Light area and also requested to provide police protection and help for the purpose of rescue operation.
On the same day at 08.15 pm, a team of Rescue Foundation and police officials consisting of Investigation Officers, informer, 2 punch and required police staff moved towards Room No 8 and 10, First Floor, Krishna Building, Pawwala Street Red-Light area and conduct a successful rescue operation and rescued 02 girls from said the place. The Police officer of D.B.Marg Police Station asks some questions to the Rescued Girls and they stated that Miss. Rani Sing (Age-35) is our Brothel Keeper and she takes half earning from us;
After that police took a Custody of Miss. Rani Sing. Then police had brought her to the D.B.Marg Police Station and completed the all legal formality.
Currently the 02 Girls are staying in our Kandivali protective home.

Addresses: Dist- Murshidabad, North 24 Paraganas, West Bengal.

From Last several months Rescue Foundation observed that many Minor girls in Budhwarpeth Red-Light Area are forced for Prostitution. In view of this unfortunate scenario our President Smt. Triveni BAL Krishna Acharya discussed this issue with Top Level Police Official of Pune Police and requested them for a Mass Rescue Operation Specially for Forced Minor Girls in Budhwarpeth Red-Light area.
On 13th January 2011 at 1:00 pm Rescue Foundation team went to the D.C.P Office Shivajinagar and Met Mr. Gyaneshwer Phadatare (Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone-1, Pune City) and discussed the information about Minor girls in Budhwarpeth Red-Light area and also requested to go for a Mass Rescue Operation. After long discussion Mr. Gyaneshwer Phadatare was ready for Massive Rescue Operation in Red-Light Area and he called his Junior Police Officials and made a Team of 150 Police Officers and gave them instructions about the Rescue Operation. He made 10 teams and each team had 15 Police Officials with a Lady Police.
On the same day at 2.10 pm 'Rescue Foundation' team and Police Officials Started a Massive Rescue Operation in Budhwarpeth Red-Light area and cordoned the entire Red-light area, After that each team started search operation in every building and we mainly searched the New Building, Machis Building, Khusbu Building, Disco Building, Kohinoor Building and other buildings of Red-Light area, after 5 hours Long Rescue operation we had 57 girls Rescued and 6 Brothel-keepers arrested!!!
Currently among 57 girls there are 37 girls were handover to Government Homes & 20 girls are staying at our Pune Shelter home.
