You are helping to make a difference in young women’s lives. Below, please find the story of one young woman who was recently rescued and undergoing counseling and vocational training at the Rescue Foundation.
Karina’s husband and his sister tricked her into leaving her home country, Bangladesh to go to India, where she was told she would be employed. When she arrived, she was taken to a discotheque and told that she had been sold into prostitution. She was very shocked and started crying but her husband and his sister told her that she would not have any other option so she was forced to do work in sex trade. For 7 months, Karina was moved from brothel to brothel as her traffickers sought to avoid various police raids.
On 17th February 2011 Rescue Foundation team went to the police station to discuss the information which was received from the information network of Rescue Foundation about the presence of minor and forcefully girls in the Pawwala Street Red-Light area and also requested to provide police protection and help for the purpose of rescue operation.
The police took the brothel owner into custody and successfully rescued Karina and other girls in her same position.
