Students at Djolu Technical College (or ISDR for its French name, Institut Superieur de Developpement Rurale) deperately need computers and internet technology.

Students are very proud of their fledgling college, called ISDR Djolu for its French name, Institute Superieur de Developpement Rurale. It is located in Djolu, the territorial capital of Tshuapa District in Equateur Province.

A regional educational official, on a recent visit, heard third-year students defend their theses and questioned them before a crowd of onlookers.

A requirement of graduation is that third-year students research, write and defend their theses before the Zone Commissioner. Students have to make a two-week hike along rainforest footpaths and rivers to type and print out their theses in Kisangani, the nearest city.
