SCHOOL LEVEL DISASTER & RISK MANAGEMENT TRAINING CAMP

Being united with the organization Global Giving our organization Chevaliar Roche Society convened. The Disaster and Risk Management Training programme  for different classes at different dates at  the panchayat union middle school, Karaikkadu colony panchayat union for Boys and Girls Mr. Sivanandam, Vice President, Panchayat president presided over the training programme in the presence of Mrs.K.Vijayalakshmi, Headmistrees, Panchayat union Middle school. As the North East Monsoon rain has begun, Disaster and Risk Management Training programme was offered about the safety of children with the leadership of the project Manager, Chevalier Roche Society and the team in the entire week. During the training following matters were trained.

  1. During the time of rainy seasons actions to be taken were taught.
  2. It was taught  what safety precautions to be taken during the time of flood
  3. Contagious diseases being found in rainy seasons and their dangerous was taught.
  4. It was taught and emphasized to children that they should not stand beside the damage building, clay wall, Electric post, Transformer etc.,
  5. It was also taught to them they should not  descend into the ponds and tanks
  6. It was advised them that they should not leave the safety places when rain is falling with the cyclone wind.
  7. Safety measures of road was also taught
  8. Risks being formed because of electric leakage was also taught to the children
  9. It was also informed them how to stay in their place with safety and without fire accidents
  10. Actions to be taken for avoiding the fire accidents was also taught to the students
  11. It was also deeply taught to them about the risks  and loses being found during the time of disasters
  12. It was taught to the children that they should not go away without the guidance of their parents and teachers during the rainy season
  13. It was also advised the children that they should drink only heated and protected water until the end of the rainy season

On behalf of the Organizations Global Giving and Chevalier Roche Society in a combined manner we convened safety and First aid training programme for the boys and girls students  on the above dates  for the different classes at the panchayat union middle school at Karaikkadu colony, Karaikkadu panchayat union school, Karaikkadu panchayat Cuddalore District which was affected heavily by the cyclone “Thane”. In this training programmme Mr.M.T.Senthil Kumar, Asst.Headmaster, Karaikkadu panchayat at Union school presided over the programme in the presence of               Mr.Venkatesh Physical Education Teacher, Mr.A. Thamodharan Project Manager, Chevalier Roche Society and his team provided the training for the students about search, Redemption and First aid with the practical explanation. During the time of training following information was informed and taught.

  1. It was taught how to redeem the people whom who entangled in the flood water.
  2. It was also taught how to redeem the people 
  3. It was also taught how to redeem the people who are affected in fore accidents.
  4. Finding out  the alternative route and in what manner the children should go to the safety places
  5. It was also taught how the affected person would be carried during the disaster times. It was practically shown to them also.
  6. First aid method to the bone fractured people during the disaster times was explained.
  7. It was taught to them practically how to control the blood haemorhage.
  8. Pulse checking method was also taught to them
  9. Artificial respiration was also practically
  10. First aid method with complete details was taught to the children practically.
