Sub     :Global Giving jointly with Chevaliar Roche Society – Disaster and Risk Management Training Programme for Mathalappattu Village people.

Mrs. Seethalakshmi Panchayat president Mathalappattu presided over this training programme in the presence of Mr. Ramdass vice president, Mathappattu panchayat.Project manager Chevaliar Roche society and his team offered the training to the community at Mathalappttu. During this training following information were given

1. It was emphasized to form disaster and risk management committees
2. To form search and rescue First aid committees immediately was emphasized
3. Being heard the Govt. NGO’s early warning and people should protect themselves in various manners.
4. The necessity of insurance for life and health was informed to them
5.  Also we taught the necessity of insurance for farmers and agricultural crops.
6. Results of the other various disaster were explained in detail
7. First aid treatment for the victims was also taught them elaborately
8. It was also informed to the community not to agitate and the manner of activities were also explained to them.
9. CBO (Community Based organizations),  PRI (Panchayat Raj Institutions) were informed about the spreading of communicable diseases during the time of disasters and the prevention methods.
10. The necessity of delivering the healthy food and water was emphasized to them.

Mrs. Seethalakshmi panchayat president Mathalappattu presided over the training programme in the presence of Mr.Ramdass vice president Mathalappattu panchayat Mr. Thamodharan project manager, chevaliar society and his team gave the training to the community of Mathalappattu village. During this training following ideas were given.

1. Finding the most vulnerable people and vulnerable places was taught to the community
2. Discovering the alternative routes and safety places were taught
3. Calling on the concerned departmental officials was informed.
4. First aid treatment was taught to them in detail
5. Controlling methods of bleeding to the injured persons were taught to the community
6. Artificial respiration method was taught elaborately
7. Protection methods by using the available house hold materials were also informed
8. Safety methods of importants documents in the home was explained in a descriptive manner.

REDEEMING THE RISKY

Sub : Arrangement of Global Giving jointly with Chevaliar Roche Society disaster and risk management training programme for the cyclone Thane affected community a Sethukattu palayam village, Muthalappattu panchayat, Cuddalore block.

Mr.Ramadass vice president Mathalappattu panchayat presided over the function in the presence of Mr. Ganesan panchayat secretary. This village is composed of Thalith illiterate community. This village has been affected by super cyclone in 1992 Nisha and Thane in Dec 2011. Mr. Thamodharan  project manager, Chevaliar Roche Society and his team                         co ordinated the community in the Sethukattu palayam village and offered the training to them effectively. The following points were decided and taught to them

1. As this village is composed of many thatched houses, it was informed them to be careful to avoid the fire accidents was emphasized to them
2. It was also emphasized to look after the surrounding areas of the domestic places with the stagnant water during the rainy season.
3. If one is found with the symptom of any contagious disease, the concerned family members should contact the medical officer immediately. It was taught to them
4. Methods of disaster were taught to them in detail
5. Results of disaster were also taught elaborately to the community and the safety measures were also informed.
6. First aid was taught to them practically as the community is illiterate.
7. Search & Rescue was also taught to the community in a descriptive manner
