The most terrible " Cyclone Thane" crossed between south India, Tamilnadu coastal districts with wind speeds at 120 km per hour Leaving a major destruction and taking death of 44 lives , uprooting lakhs of trees & major damaging roads Cyclone Thane gives us the lesson that community was assault even though the State Govt. warned the community many times The place has been hit by Tsunami (2004) and Thane (2011) It is our foremost aim to make the community ready everthrough any Disasters arise
Almost coastal & Agri districts have been devastated Water ponds have been modified as domestic areas water flows & no drainage channels & blocked by water plants entirely Community has no attitude to pickup the early warning villages have the Disaster Management Committee formed by UNDP Aim to strengthen same.Govt. provide Early warning community did not consider We need to prepare "First aid Guides" alternative livelihood & trauma counseling lobby for Govt aid & Disaster management plan
Loss of lives would be reduced by the strengthening of Disaster Management committee. Girls have trauma counselling we can make Community to attain early warn By the First aid volunteers, Health seeking behavior and safety of lives are assured we can provide Income Generating programmes to acquire the fundamental rights & empowerment to attain any Govt.aids We would be a " ready reckoner" (Disaster Management Plan) for these vulnerable Districts All victims would have insurance polices
On hearing the early warning community would be alert through our intervention By strengthening the disaster management committee / team they can be a better task force at any future disaster Make the attitude for life & insurance policy By presenting an alternative livelihood through continuous income generating trainings Particularly women & children are in fear if any trauma comes they should overcome any disaster Finally we will prepare PRA documentation & future disaster management plan
