Help people affected by the humanitarian crisis in Darfur by training and supporting the relief workers who provide a vital lifeline of humanitarian assistance.
Sudanese, African and international aid agencies have responded to the protracted humanitarian crisis in Darfur. The aid workers who work for them are a vital lifeline for people affected by the crisis. The extreme situations they operate in means the average “burn out” rate for aid workers in Darfur is just 6 months. If an aid worker leaves the field after this time, their skills, knowledge and experience are lost. There is urgent need to support aid workers so they can help people in need.
Training aid workers in preventative safety and security to reduce the likelihood of being attacked, and how to respond to violent incidents. Includes staff welfare with 1-2-1 psycho-social support and access to a staff welfare support network.
Keeping aid workers and their expertise in the fields improves the quality and efficiency of humanitarian programs - helping to save and improve peoples' lives.
