Through the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood’s Music Program, youth learn about music and music performance, they also learn the meaning of discipline and responsibility, and can experience success.
Because of cuts in public school arts education, the vast majority of youth in Hollywood are not afforded the benefits that music can offer as a performing art, a productive extracurricular activity, and a potentially life changing experience. Through the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood’s Music Program, however, our youth can not only learn about music and music performance, they can also come to know the meaning of discipline and responsibility.
Children participate in keyboard, singing, piano, and guitar lessons. At the end of the school year, they perform at the Year-End Music Partnership held in UCLA’s Schoenberg Auditorium.
Provide professional musical training to increased numbers of low-income, inner-city school students so they thrive and succeed through the study, practice and performance of music.
