Teaching in action

Teaching in action
Nursery class teacher and Principal, Apsara Karki, helps a 4 year old student learn to write the Latin letters with a notebook and a pencil provided by the school. The students are charged no expense for attendance at Punarbal Shikshya Sadan. The school even provides a healthy lunch and after-school snack. (view small | med | large | orig)

Dancing contest; popular extracurricular activity.

Dancing contest; popular extracurricular activity.
The students get to express themselves in dance and fun. It's an opportunity to forget the hardships and discrimination they face everyday and to just be children. (view small | med | large | orig)

The children come from all over Nepal

The children come from all over Nepal
At Punarbal Shikshya Sadan, the students come from a variety of districts. Most of the children coming from far away live in orphanages scattered all over Kathmandu - and therefore does the school bus take a long time to collect them all and costs a lot of money. With the new Punarbal Care and Support Center more children will be added to this chart, children who otherwise woulnd't go to school. (view small | med | large | orig)
