Summary
This project equips a 5th graders on reproductive education by using existing assetts to understand and utilize their learnt education by drawing, theatre and singing in the city of Mtwara
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The primary aim is to decrease the high drop out rate from school because of teenage pregnancy by equipping students with education. To ensure sustainability, the project is involving the students in the making of a career centre and a resource room and to get consent from parents, the parents are being involved in the formation of the curriculum. This will be addressed in the city of Mtwara in Tanzania. The project hopes to provide scholarships for eligible students and education.
How will this project solve this problem?
Including parents in the curriculum process will decrease the drop out rate from school. Educating and offering scholarships to students in the process will educate and motivate them to stay in school and affect peer decisions as well.
Potential Long Term Impact
This project will address the high drop out rate from school by educating students who have been pregnant or are at risk by providing a secure future and establishing income generating activities for families.
