Summary
Through three years from 2009 to 2011, China Youth Development Foundation will organize Expert Coaching Group to provide professional training to 10,000 rural teachers.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
In comparison with cities, the primary education in the remote rural areas is very backward. Besides the lacking of teaching facilities and equipment, the quality of teaching force is really weak. According to the statistics by Ministry of Education, there are only 47% of teachers, out of 356.86 million teachers in elementary schools in countryside, has owned secondary technical school diploma. Low quality of teaching brings out poor result of education to the rural kids.
How will this project solve this problem?
The Rural Teacher Training Program runs 10 workshops each year, targeting on 1,000 headmasters and key teachers from Jiangxi, Shanxi, Qinghai, and Gansu provinces, in three training bases in Shanghai, Beijing and Shanxi.
