Virmani Trust is a not for profit organization and is supported by donations from the Virmani Family, Friends and Corporations like Tata Power-DDL, BSES and ATS Green. The generous support of our donors and sponsors has enabled us to teach approx. 40,000 women to read and write HINDI, ARITHMETIC, and a VOCATION during the last 11 years. After opening 361 centers teaching 21,780 women annually in Delhi, we have ventured to Uttrakhand and have opened 26 centers teaching 1,500 women annually.
1. Increase in infant mortality rate. 2. Increasing population. 3. Lack of self-respect and confidence in the underprivileged women. 4. They are unaware of health and hygienic issues and are unable to take proper care of their family. 5. The women are unable to manage financial matters and as a result get cheated easily. 6. They are unable to travel and communicate properly due to illiteracy.
The project, with the objective to bring Happiness & Joy in the lives of the Disadvantaged and Marginalized section of society, provides functional literacy to them. It creates Awareness about Hygiene, Health and Safety and Support Women of Disadvantaged Communities to gain Confidence, Respect and Honor in the society. It focuses on the economic empowerment of these women. These activities result in the empowerment of not only these women but also brings happiness in the lives of their families.
