As they grow older, the children food consumption is also increasing. In addition to healthcare and nutritious meals, we were able to harvest 1.2 tons of corn and 50 Kg of beans from our farming project to help with our increasing food consumption. Since the beginning of the academic year in October, out of 3 reporting period, one of our little girls, Diakassan, ranked twice first in her class of 44, with a GPA of over 8 out of 10 both times. Additionally, Adama and Lassine have commenced the skill building with tailoring classes. Finally, in the sport arena, 3 of our children, Diakassan, Koro, and Assan, are retained to participate in Bamako’s regional competition. The year was ended with a visit to Bamako by one of our board of directors, Alpha, who spent Christmas and New Year with the children in Bamako. Please donate today and help us ensure that our work continues and that the vulnerable children of Mali are afforded the security of the holistic program that ACFA offers them. Thank you for supporting our efforts towards attaining our vision.
Children are doing extremely well as they move through the academic year. Our newly designed nutritional diet has proved to be very helpful with not just the children nutrition needs but also shown less chronicle diseases than before. Additionally the school year is commencing well as we received the first report card with Diakassan ranking number 1 in her class of 44, and all but one child receiving grades above the average. We are proud to announce that our children continue to strive thanks to your continued support. Thank you very much, and please do not hesitate to contact our CEO if you have any questions.
This summer CEO Kadiatou Sidibe visited Bamako to spend some time with the children and inquire about the status of the construction of Zorokoro. The first dorm is now at its final phase and we need help with leveling out the 5 acre of land surrounding the dorm so that the children have a safe playground. This summer we introduced the children to Incolac, a nutritious powder whole milk available on the market in Mali. Made from 100% pure cow’s milk this source of vitamins A and D3, calcium and 17 essential nutrients is vital to our children’s diet. This is supplemented with a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and protein alike. Mali now has a democratically elected president who will take office on 04 Sep 2013. Things are moving in the right direction for the country, but the vulnerable children left as a result of the last 2 years turmoil still need help. ACFA’s answer to these events is to ensure that the Zorokoro project maintains course and stays on track to receive and support more vulnerable children.
Please donate today and help us ensure that our work continues and that the vulnerable children of Mali are afforded the security of the holistic program that ACFA offers them. Thank you for supporting our efforts towards attaining our vision.
Our nutrition project supports our children well and improves as we tackle the challenges of malnutrition in Mali. Summer has settled in Bamako. This means that food prices have increased due to the shortage of crop during the rainy season. The old crop is fading out and the new ones are not yet in. Our children’s diet is periodically reviewed and adjusted to the seasonal fruits and vegetable. In addition, we shipped more dietary supplements for their daily consumption. Periodic physical checkups have revealed consistent equilibrium in their nutrient.

March is the National Nutrition Month. We at ACFA continue to make informed decisions to ensure our established sound nutrition habits for the children are supporting our strategy, to develop the children’s body and mind. This month is the best time to refocus our efforts on improving the children’s nutrient diet, and that is what we are doing. Small changes such as adding a couple more nutrients to the daily diet, have proved to be more effective than drastic changes. Enjoy the photos of the children enjoying new diet meal which you have helped provide. Thank you for your continued support.
