Help rural poor deaf children who also suffer discrimination, providing an inclusive education. Enable them to interact and be part of society in an everyday context and build self-confidence.
ICAL was a specialized school for deaf children. With the change in legislation in 2008, ICAL faced the challenge of opening its doors to non disabled children and promoting inclusive education, both sign and spoken language. Despite some improvements, the deaf population is still a subserviced group, 65% are illiterate and only 33.5% reach high school level. ICAL wants to fill that void for poor children in the rural areas while providing an inclusive education of the highest quality.
ICAL provides a high quality education, in a full day classroom format, starting in preschool up to high school level. Furthermore, for the poorest population, that cannot afford to provide a meal, scholarships are provided through sponsorships.
The support provided will aid students to reach the highest education level they can and move forward to technical and superior education in order to become productive members of the society and break the dependence on their families.
