Alou has served Belehede for several years as its local government representative. He is active in the community, working with the village development committee, the local elementary school and the health clinic. He has served as an official counterpart to 3 Peace Corps Volunteers and attended numerous trainings aimed at developing local community resources. He will serve as community librarian.
Elisee has been the national coordinator for Friends of African Village Libraries in Burkina Faso since 2008. He oversees the eight community libraries in Burkina and helps coordinate, manage and plan FAVL's activities in the country.
Combined with other sources of funding, this project raised enough money to fund the outlined activities and is no longer accepting donations.
