Was The Computer User-friendly?

By a female, 16-21 years old, in Kakamega, Kenya
Map of Was the computer user-friendly? The term "user-friendly" is quite common these days. A user -friendly appliance is one which is easy to use and which, often keeps giving you tips on the best ways to use it at every stage. Some early computes were not quite user-friendly and some of the feedback they gave to their users was sometimes provocative. There was once this quick-tempered scientist workings at an early version of a PC in his laboratory. He kept keying in data and commanding the computer to give him feedback. 'GIGO' was the first bit of feedback the computer gave, meaning garbage in garbage out. In other words, the PC was saying, If you give me nonsense I give you nonsense back. The answer to the scientists second query was "thats dumb. an American expression meaning silly. The scientist jumped to his feet, lifted high the stool on which he had been sitting and brought it crashing smack on the top of the computer. Compiled by Kalvin. Read more.
