National Workshop on Monitoring Violence against Children
We are a member of Kenya Alliance for Advancement of Children Rights. Our Executive Director was in Mombasa attending a national workshop on monitoring violence against children 12th to 15th October 2009.
The workshop focused on helping civil societies to strength their networking in the areas of child protection and advocacy.
The workshop enlisted some of the abuses and violence facing children including defilements, child labour, early pregnancies, school-drop outs, drug abuse, prostitution, and child headed families, Female Genital Mutilation among others.
TYSA Director Mr. Gichuki Francis was nominated interim secretary of the Rift Valley Provincial Children Rights Network to spearhead its formation.
We believe TYSA will bring its vast experience in support child protection to the Provincial level.
With your continued support, we shall help the children interact and develop strong links.
With Warm Regards from TYSA
