Project: FLIGHT

Summary

12+ endeavors to provide 100% of its seniors with college scholarships, no ifs, ands, or buts. That means every dollar from the "Project: FLIGHT" campaign will go straight towards funding our students' post-secondary education. Through this campaign, we will empower our students to soar above a world filled with boundaries and limitations by giving them their wings.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Less than 36% of students in Philadelphia enroll in college. That number drops to 25% for students who attend neighborhood schools. Overall, only 1 in 10 students who attend a Philadelphia public school go on to graduate with a college degree. One of the largest issues is the financial burden that students from underserved communities must bear.

How will this project solve this problem?

Your donation will directly benefit students by helping them pay for college; however, it doesn't stop there. Our students live in a world where over 90% will be the first in their families to go to college. As they boldly embark on this journey, we ask that you join them. Send them the powerful message that there are others who believe in their potential, that they are not alone. We believe that even the smallest gust of wind can send our kids to the skies.

Potential Long Term Impact

A college degree is a gateway to opportunity, especially for those who come from underserved communities. The education they will receive and the economic prospects they will gain from that education will allow our students to finally break free from the cycle of poverty and aid in the growth of the inner-city.
