About 1.4 million people in North eastern are in an urgent need of relief food.
The north eastern commissioner Hassan Farah who has identified the situation as it worsens due to failure of rains in all the three countries of Garissa, Wajir, Mandera with the weather forecasters forecasting drought by october.
He has take a step of meeting the NGO's and clerics and telling them the situation is bad and could get even worse if something is not done.
He has also appealed to the ministry of special programmes and that of water and irrigation to intervene urgently and give out relief food and water in the most affected areas.
