Dear Project of the Month Club,August already? Hard to believe it's time for another wonderful update! We're so excited to share with you about the impact of your generous donations last month. In July, 135 of you gave a combined total of $4,144 to "Protect Girls from Domestic Labor in Peru"--what a worthy cause! It's truly inspiring to see what good things can happen when we join forces. Here's what the Project Leader Johana Reyes wanted to share with you abour your gift: "Thank you all for the support to girls and women doing domestic work in Peru. Your contribution is making a difference for them to get a better future!"We're also thrilled to share that, this month, your donations will be combined to benefit a project in Haiti called "Promise126: 24/7 Care to Orphans in Haiti" run by Mercy & Sharing. As you might be able to tell by the title of this project, Mercy & Sharing has made a special promise: They've vowed to provide food, shelter, medical care, therapy, education, and love to 126 precious children who were abandoned and left to die. With your help, these kids will be able to break the cycle of despair and achieve independence.Upon hearing the exciting news that her project had been selected for August, the Project Leader Louis Fawcett had this to share:"As the only organization in Haiti actively taking in disabled orphans into full-time care, Mercy & Sharing is honored to be featured as the Project of the Month. We would be excited to raise $6000 in August to fund the FULL care of one orphan. With $4000, we can feed four orphans for a year or provide clothing for all 126 orphans. Thank you!"We look forward to more good news from the field in September! Each month, we are humbled and inspired by the generosity of GlobalGivers like yourself, and this month is certainly no exception. Thank you sincerely for your continued support.Warmly,Mari and the GlobalGiving Team
