Dear Project of the Month Club,
We’re pleased to share with you that last month, you and 126 other Project of the Month Club members raised $3,355 for “Improving Maternal-Infant Health for Mayan Women," a project providing access to vital prenatal and postnatal care for indigenous women, newborns, and children.
Rosemary Trent, project leader, wanted to share with you that your generous donations are helping 70 women learn valuable family planning skills and support the children they already have.
In honor of Father's Day, we are also very happy to introduce to you June's Project of the Month, “Supplies For Baby Buggy Fatherhood Initiative.” This New York-based project project provides clothing, gear and products for children of low-income, non-custodial fathers enrolled in Baby Buggy fathering initiatives. It helps fathers feel empowered to embrace fatherhood and the responsibilities that accompany it, as well as provide impoverished dads the tools they need to keep their children safe and healthy.
Nura Poursharif, project leader for "Supplies For Baby Buggy Fatherhood Initiative," wanted to share with you her message of excitement upon learning that she was selected to participate in the Project of the Month Club:"We are very honored to have been selected as the GlobalGiving Project of the Month Club’s high-impact Project for June! It seems so fitting to be honoring fathers who are making a commitment to their children in the month of Father’s Day. Sadly, nearly 1 out of 3 children in America live in father-absent homes and children in father-absent homes are 5 times more likely to be poor. Baby Buggy’s Fatherhood Initiative aims to provide fathers who are struggling to get by with the tools they need to play an active role in their children’s lives, and ensure that their child’s mother isn’t the only provider for the family. By pairing donations of cribs, diapers, etc. with programs that provide job training and other skills, we can help dads to provide for their children now while they work to become self-sufficient over the long-term."
We are so grateful for your support, and hope that you are proud to know that you are equipping low-income fathers with the tools and training to provide for their families and support their children.
Thank you again for your generosity. Your support is having an earth-changing impact around the world.
Warm regards,Mari and the GlobalGiving Team
