We are dedicated to providing a fun, safe and educational place for people with disabilities and special needs to learn basic horsemanship and socialize.
In our area, approximately 10 percent of the population has a disability or special need. When Happy Trails started we were the only activity for people with disabilities and special needs offered through our local parks departments. Some of our students need 3 volunteers to be able to ride a horse. We are primarily run by volunteers and funded by donations. Our classes are offered at very affordable prices and we need to raise funds to make our programs possible and cover our costs.
Raising funds will help us meet our budget and have paid staff to run this non-profit that is currently at capacity.
Sustaining our programs will help to provide a therapeutic and recreational activity for the under served population we are serving. We also provide a place for people with disabilities and special needs to learn skills for future employment.
