Summary
Ensure primary education for 500 children from underprivileged families in rural community of Nayagarh, Orissa, through providing study materials and school uniform to make them literate.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The literacy level in the state is 49.09% with a male literacy rate of 63% and the female literacy rate of 34%. The drop out among the children in the age group 6-11 years in respect of general, ST and SC category of students is 46%,72% and 56% respectively . 50% of children in rural communities are not going to school because of poverty. As a result they engaged as child labor and exploited and became victim of trafficking.
How will this project solve this problem?
The project provides study materials, school uniform, nutritious midday meal and coaching facility to improve in their study.
Potential Long Term Impact
The project will facilitate 500 children to enroll in primary schools to increase literacy level to stop child labor and overcome child trafficking and exploitation.
