Summary
Provide trauma recovery and education for children in the earthquake affected city of Yogyakarta. School kits including books, bags, and uniforms will be provided.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Children have been particularly affected by the earthquake that struck Yogyakarta on May 26. They have lost family members, homes, and are still displaced and at risk of disease. Children need assistance to recover from the trauma as well as return to schooling and educational activities.
How will this project solve this problem?
FTPI will assist with recovery for children traumatized by the earthquake and provide school kits including bookbags, books, uniforms, and clothes. Longer term a mobile learning center will be constructed with a library and other learning tools.
Potential Long Term Impact
Children will recover from the trauma of the earthquake and continue with their education due to access to school supplies and a mobile learning center.

I don’t know what I’m going to do now. It looks like we’ll miss the rest of the school year, but I just want to return to class so that I can become knowledgeable and make my parents proud.
