Pontis Foundation is focused on three main areas - corporate philanthropy, corporate responsibility and democracy development abroad. Foundation manages 12 corporate funds, and last year we gave to NGOs, schools and municipalities the grants in the amount of more than 1.1 million. €. We are committed to secure a mechanism assignation of 2% of the tax for the benefit of NGOs and we are a founding member of the Association of foundations regarding this subject. The Corporate fund Accenture at the Pontis Foundation supports NGOs , schools, cities and municipalities to help young people get a job and social skills in finding a job or own business start-up.
Six Kenyan teachers visited Slovakia through Kenyan school modernization project, which is realized by us in southeastern Kenya.
We lead the group Engage - which is the group of 24 companies that are the leader in Slovakia in corporate volunteering. Among other things, last year we collected 8 tons of clothes, baby, kitchen staff and toys for 30 non-profit organizations. We have started work on a campaign a website for Naše Mesto (Our Town) - the biggest corporate volunteering event in Slovakia and Central Europe. Volunteers from Poistovna Slovenskej sporitelne began to teach young people from crisis center how to save some money for the future and took the children from orphanage to the ZOO. The Hewlett-Packard implements Elderly project aimed to help seniors. We have organized barbeque for a group of 30 seniors, dancing party and unique photo exibition - portraits of seniors. Photos have been made by volunteers from Hewlett-Packard Photo Club and leading Slovak stylist took care of seniors style. Through Helping heads volunteers can help to prepare fundraising strategy for Zilina synagogue, from which arise the Kunsthalle.
Furthermore, we have begun preparations for Via Bona Slovakia Award 2012 - a prestigious award for the company for corporate responsibility and philanthropy. Nominations are ongoing to February, 17 and winners selected by the jury will be known on April, 11, 2013.
