Map of Planting trees Me and my friend had formed a community conservation group that was going to look after the environment.The group would help farmers in planting trees and cleaning the environment.The community had seen this as the way forward to help in combating the deforestation in community. We benefited from seedlings given to us by the western water and sanitation forum in Kakamega with the help of local administration.We benefited from the seedling planted in schools and our farms and our community now looks better. Animal Ranching

Map of Animal ranching In the last two monts there has been terrible occasions where neighbours quarrel over animals eating their crops.Our village elder spend most of his time looking for a suitable solution over this disputes in the end of the first of the month he had a solution where he decided to contact the kenya wildlife services(kws). After 3 days the officer the head of that organisation arrived this was known by our village residence through radios and with immediate action we had advised our residence to introduce the ranching system where animals had to be locked in enclosed places. We also advised that with this method there is high possibility of keeping beef animals. Read more.

Solidarities

Map of SOLIDARITIES Solidarities is an organization that has introduced the planting of kales (sukumawiki) in sacks. This organization has created employment to many people in our community. Its headquarters are located near the chief's camp. Those who have registered in this organization come and take the seedlings from the headquarters and go and plant near their homes. Some of the people who grow it sale it and get money or use it as a source of food. The growing of kales require alot of attention and care. Most of the people in the community enjoy the growing of sukumawiki. Read more.
