We are happy to tell you about the latest news of our project:
November 30: was the closure of the first stage of classes for children.
Januarry 15-17: II teachers seminar in Riga. New teachers from Saint Petersburg participated in the seminar.
January 18: opening of the exhibition in Riga. Please see the pictures here
February 1: we started the second stage of classes with children. Please see the reports here
Due to changing of Russian legislation we are forced to close this project on GlobalGiving.From now on our organization may no longer receive any donations from US citizens and US organizations.If you are not a US citizen and your donation is not going to be made from account of an US organization you still may help the project using other way of making a donations (to learn more please see this page)We are very thankful for your help!

Today we are with the students visited the exhibition of butterflies in the eco-biological center on Krestovsky. We made pictures of “wild” nature.

Meeting with my students after the holidays was very happy – we all missed each other.
We are very lucky – it was a sunny day, the mood is great, we got a brilliant result.

Last Friday we had the first lesson in this year. Our group was updated and now we have 4 new participants. So the most part of the lesson we got acquainted, remembered bases of the photo and tried to do some.

We finaly started our project in orphanages of Saint Petersburg!
Our teachers Yulia, Darya and Svetlana make photo workshops for teenagers from orphanges.
Our teacher Yulia reports after first class with children:
My first meeting with a group of girls from the orphanage was … odd. I talked a lot, and the girls were silent. At first I was scared: what if they did not talk to me! The girls got used to me. They were watching me – if I could trust. Each new person makes them suspicious. But, as I think, I passed the test. After 30 minutes, all my students were standing around me, listened, talked, asked, surprised. Read more

It is always interesting to meet new people and more than that it is always interesting to meet new children! Children are our future! Yesterday we met with some nice girls from a city orphanage. Some of them already knew something about photography and already tried to take pictures. Those girls came to ask with one question – how to make their photos better? Some girls are only forming their interest for photography. We told them about PhotoYouth project so they started to call us “project people”. Read more
