We want to give a chance to talented youngsters from orphanages of Saint Petersburg to learn how to use a camera, to learn photo techniques and to get photography tips from professionals. In frame of this project we will organize photo workshops with experienced photographers, a photo camp for the students and a traveling exhibition. We believe this project may be a chance for our students to choose their life occupation. The project will start in the beginning of 2012.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Youngsters from orphanages rarely have a chance to participate in trainings meant to interest them in a profession and give them deep knowledge about it. Most of orphanage graduates don't go to study further after leaving the orphanage school and get lost in society without any useful skills and profession. Even being interested in photography, unfortunately, youngsters from orphanages do not have a chance to go to a training like this like their equals in age who have parents.
How will this project solve this problem?
We will organize workshops to introduce talented students to the photography, get them interested in it. We believe that after working with professionals and being on a interesting training our students may take a better decision about their life occupation and have a better future.
Potential Long Term Impact
We believe we may help our students to build their lives in an interesting field of art of photography.
