A New Year and a new start

Dear Friends and Supporters ,

A happy new year to you all. We have had a very succesfull time on our GlobalGiving pages in December, people are so generous and kind.

We have had a think about this project and since we started it Global Giving have intoduced micro projects. It seems to us we would like to make this project a micro project and we are talking to Global Giving about it. It would mean that we actually show the families from below the poverty line who would get a rickshaw and therefore a big opportunity to boost thier income. Please watch this space!

Here is the busy winter season in Bodhgaya, but we plan to donate rickshaws in the village areas too. They are low maintence and can add a considerable amount in relative terms to a families income. When we give our first rickshaw, hopefully this month we will follow how much that family earns in a month and give some personal feedback to donors.

For all the deveopment here in Bihar, the scale of poverty is huge with more than 50 million people struggling on an income of under 2 USD a day. This project may be small in scale but it will make a huge difference to the families involved.

Thank you for all your help and we will give some details of our first rickshaw families!

Have a great New Year!
