Dear Donors, Friends and well-wishers around the world greetings from the heart of HEARTS.
I am so happy to say hello to you all through the River Fund and GlobalGiving through this quarterly report.
As a President of HEARTS and Director of “little HEARTS orphanage” I am very happy to share my joy with you all about Ramu’s success in his Intermediate results. He got 92% of marks in both first and second year examinations and also stood first in the college. On 10th this month he attended for EMCET (Engineering, Medical Common Entrance Test) and expecting 140 out of 160 marks. He will be our very first froot. He will definitely get a rank and would get a seat in government Engineering College.
In this connection I would like to share a small story about him. Seven years ago when he was at little HEARTS orphanage his aunt (mother’s elder sister) forced him to leave the orphanage and planned to send him to a local Barbar shop (he belongs to Barbar community) to work as a daily laborer to earn money. She was so jealous and tried to discourage him because her sons are illiterates! I got angry over her and stood besides and encouraged him to stay at little hearts. His success is an eye witness before all of us and grateful for your kind donations. Please keep donating more to give life to all the children who are staying at little HEARTS orphanage.
Last month Ms. Linda Rose from the United Kingdom visited little HEARTS orphanage and conducted one day work shop for children. It was really a joy and fun filled day for our children. It was her first visit to India. As staff we also learned several new things from her one day workshop.
The Right Now Foundation, U.K. based children charity donated Rs.10,00,000 (Ten lakh Indian Rupees) for construction of another floor over the top of little hearts building which will be for 25 HIV infectedchildren. The construction work is under progress. The construction work will be completed by the end of May. Thanks Mr.Stewart Botting and Mr.Alex, Chairman of the Right Now Foundation, U.K.
All the children at “little HEARTS orphanage” doing very fine and studying very well. For Xth standard boys and girls we are taking more care for their studies. These Xth standard children will have separate tuition outside of little HEARTS orphanage. They attend extra classes from 6 PM to 9PM everyday.
