The‘One Egg Program’ started from December 2010, and served only 132 kids from one primary school in Guiyang Province then. So far, our program have covered 23 schools in 5 provinces in western China, serving one egg per day for more than 6500 kids living in less-developed districts.
The Alo School is one of our benefited parties, the newly updated student number is 162. We stared serving this school from September 2011, until now (including the last 3 months), we have been continuously offering one egg to every pupil on every school day.
The school located in Liangshan Area of Sichuan province, which is one of the poorest areas in China. The visage of local community and people can be seen from pictures posted in this report. Most students’ family meal is only potatoes for every day, so eating rice in school’s canteen has been a happy time for kids, not to mention eggs per day.
Last month, we received the first grant from Globalgiving, USD4,510.75 after service charge of USD15.00 from bank. Now, the Alo School is during winter vacation, the program will restart from March 2013, and will go on as long as eggs are needed there.
