This project provides portable, low cost instructional A/V technology solutions so trainers can use video recorded lessons to educate rural villagers about clean water and sanitation in rural India.
Lack of access to safe drinking water is a root cause of poverty and a major cause of ill health and loss of productivity. It is perhaps the principal cause of life-threatening diseases among infants and children. Over 80% of instances of morbidity and mortality in rural India can be traced to water borne diseases. Many residents are unaware of the link between clean water and disease, and without education they are unwilling to support and invest in latrines and clean water delivery systems.
We will assist a local charity in India and help trainers to use portable low cost video gear to inform villagers about the use of latrines and clean water delivery systems. Short educational videos are delivered via small battery powered projectors.
Enable & promote people's access to basic education and primary health services. Promote access to safe drinking water and sanitation along with community based mechanisms for maternal and child health care.
