In Israel, most Jewish and Arab children grow up in separate spheres with little or no contact with the other side. The school set out to challenge the reality of perpetuated fear and mistrust embodied in educational segregation. Every day, 220 Jewish and Palestinian children come from 30 villages and towns to learn together in Arabic and Hebrew. They learn and celebrate each other traditions and culture in a environment of mutual respect and equality. “At NSWAS, the world is much larger!"
The Primary School provides K-6 education in both Hebrew and Arabic, with a multicultural dimension. The educational experience of the children is enriched by extracurricular programs: archaeology, zoo lab, drama therapy.

Since its opening 25 years ago, the school educates children who will make a difference in their societies, advocating for equality and respect between Jews and Palestinians.
These children are creating new realities, new expressions, and new images which give voice to a new collective consciousness of coexistence and hope for peace.
