More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

CDV is unique in that it provides an education for students, many directly affected by the 1994 genocide, who are at risk of being unable to secure a secondary education. Project members will help CDV meet the requirements of the new English-only curriculum, established by the Rwandan government in 2008, by working with faculty to increase their proficiency in conversational and subject-specific English and assist in lesson planning and instruction.

Activities

During the day, we will participate in team-teaching with CDV faculty and work with student groups to plant locally sustainable crops like sweet potato and plantain. In the evening, we will conduct ESL classes for CDV instructors.
