We need your support for making this project come true.
Thanks to your support, 100 children will receive their first book and the school from Chicoana will be able to have their Reading Corner with new books and teachers will receive training to promote reading at school. These vulnerable children have little access to health services and education, and literacy materials. Fundación Leer will train five local teachers to promote literacy in children. In addition, 300 new books of children's literature to be distributed, bringing children to books and thereby encouraging them to read and stay in school.
"The school receives children from our town but also nearby municipalities. It is a school for children from 4 to 14 year. Most of these kids are lacking resources and are in need. I would really appreciate if we could work with Fundación Leer. There is a lot of work to do. My help along with your help is so important for this community”, said Olga Chauqui, Coordinator of the National Literacy and Basic Education for Young Adults, Ministry of Education, Chicoana, Salta.
Your donation is essential to ensure that children have access to books and discover the joy and value of reading.
We are pleased that today we begin to walk along with you the way to achieve a reading and literacy Argentina.
Thank you so much for joining our community “Leer”!
We still need you!!!
There’s still a lot of work left to be done and funds to be raised.
In Chicoana, the children and their families live in extreme poverty and with the lowest education levels of the country.
So, let´s build a better future, full of hope, with the creation of a reading corner with 300 new books.
Reading promotion and literacy are the key to development, educational success and future social insertion of children who live under high social risk.
With your donation, children will read more, the parents will be more committed to their children´s education and the educators will be trained.
Together, we can put a new a book in the hands of 100 children!!!
Thank you so much for being part of this dream.
Please donate now and be part of the change!!
Access to books, reading habits, reading comprehension, critical thinking, reasoning ability, and analysis are key aspects that we cannot give ourselves the luxury of neglecting. The training of who encourages reading habits and reading competency in our children are critical aspects in order to achieve change.
This program is intended to contribute to solving the following problems:
- The scarcity of spaces and materials that promote reading and literacy in many of our educational institutions, above all those that are situated in vulnerable communities.
- The lack of knowledge, tools, and necessary innovative tactics so that educators can conduct a successful reading and literacy promotion process.
- The grand majority of the children that pertain to low resource communities do not have the necessary stimuli in their early childhood to develop their language and the reading-writing process.
All of these shortages can worsen the literacy process for children if they are not attended to on time, generating serious learning problems that are reflected in school performance.
We need your support to make this project alive for children in Chicoana.
Thank you so mucho for making this project come true!
Donate today to help move this project further!!
Francesco joined Fundación Leer in order to make his dream come true: a full literate and Reading Argentina! And he climbed the Aconcangua in January following this dream.
“I´m a strong believer that positive education in its varied forms and the power of opening opportunities are the key to the progress of humanity”, said Francesco.
Franceso helped us raising donations in support of a Children Development Center in Salta. Thank you Francesco for letting us be a part of your dream!!
We still need your contribution to finance this project in Chicoana that will train 5 operators in charge of children and will build children libraries with 300 new books benefiting 100 at risk children and their families. Your help is so important!
Like Franceso, you can be part of the change. Let Francesco inspire us all.
Please help us spread this project!! Please donate now!!
Francesco is italian. And most important of all, he is a dreamer, like many of us.
And his dream is from childhood: climbing mountains and helping foster education for children around the world. The name of his dream is « Summit Stories », a journey across the seven continents and their highest peaks to help bring education opportunities to underprivileged youth and local communities.
Like Francesco, let´s dream as high as possible !!! Let´s dream on new books and improving literacy opportunities for each child in Argentina !!! Your help is so important in making this dream come true!!!
« When I climb Aconcagua in January, I plan to support Fundacion Leer, the leading non-profit organization in Argentina that provides reading opportunities to under-privileged children in Argentina.
Remember when you were a child and there was storytime in your day or night? Remember that favorite book of yours? Help create those tender and meaningful memories to children who do not have those moments.
Unfortunately, many children don’t have this opportunity in Argentina, with devastating impact on the development of their language, reading and writing skills and school performance. By contributing to Fundacion Leer (Argentina's leading early literary foundation), you will be helping children to be prepared with the necessary abilities and enthusiasm to learn! Your contribution will finance a project in the Salta region to train operators in charge of children and to build children libraries and provide books for the children to choose and read.
It’s a wonderful program and I am looking forward to meeting and exceeding the goal we set to support Fundacion Leer and help Los Chiquitos read more.
Help spread storytime to Argentina. They will remember it as much as you do :)As Mt Aconcagua is 6,962 meters high, help me raise a dollar for each meter in support of Fundacion Leer. »Thank you! Grazie! Gracias!Francesco
