Summary
The National Scholarship Program (NSP) is the flagship initiative for the GVI Charitable Trust. This project will fund opportunities and training for disadvantaged individuals in the US to allow personal development, team work, leadership and open up further opportunities. The program aims to create a sense of responsibility both locally and globally and offers recipients the tools necessary to make a difference in their own lives, their community and impact global issues.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
National Scholarship Program projects provide opportunities and training for underprivileged youth and adults in the regions where we work to receive support and access to education, training and opportunities, aimed at creating long term improvements in their lives, their local community and their environment.
How will this project solve this problem?
This project will fund scholarships for disadvantaged individuals in the US, which will include training, qualifications and experience. Scholarships range from volunteering to internships and work experience with socially responsible organizations, in the US and overseas, and often include formal qualifications and non-formal skills such as accountability, responsibility, teamwork and leadership. Recipients will work as part of a dynamic team, learning from experienced leaders.
Potential Long Term Impact
These scholarships will provide the opportunity for recipients to learn about and directly contribute towards critical projects with long-term sustainable goals. Within our community, recipients will learn about and work alongside truly inspirational people and contribute towards important achievements. The scholarships offer experience, training and qualifications and aim to offer the recipients the tools and confidence to change their own lives and their communities in the longer term.
Project Message
Through the National Scholarship Program we have seen people in many countries where we work develop into inspirational leaders creating lasting change as a direct result of the initiative.
