Expand a Ugandan School for 480 Students

$40 $19,960
Raised Remaining

Millennium School has restored hope for thousands of children through excellent education and skills for the future. Help is needed to sustain this hope and spread the model to other village schools.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Naama Millennium educates, nourishes and provides health care to 480 village children, of whom 33% are orphans. It provides shelter to 50 who lack a safe environment or home. The school is recognized widely for its excellence and over 95% of students pass national exams upon exiting the school. However, classrooms are overcrowded, there are not enough desks, and the boarding facilities are inadequate. The school has produced incredible results and needs to expand to continue to excel.

How will this project solve this problem?

The project will build 6 new classrooms, a dormitory for 60 students, rain water collection and solar energy supply. These new facilities will motivate students by providing space for learning and boosting their pride in their school.

Potential Long Term Impact

Millennium school is a hub for community development in general. With restored hope among the children and their families, it is a home for future community leaders.
