We really thank our partners for supporting these children. Because of our kind givers through GlobalGiving, we have been able to buy 5 sacks of maize and 3 bags of beans since January 5th 2011 to feed these desperate children. We have been also lucky to get Educational Books as a donation from the British Government through the Kenya Government, worthy Kshs. 88,000/=. These books ranges from Class 1 to Class 8. This is a big relieve because, although this is an informal and desperate Institution, our children will learn the same subjects as other schools in Kenya! This donation has made most children around the dump sites come to the school as the word went around that “Mzesa Day Care Centre has received good books from the British Government”.
As prices of food stuff has gone up so much, we have started rationing the food so that all children can have a share! We thank our donors for their wonderful heart…. “God given heart” for the support, donations and encouragement. We have also bought school uniforms for 4 girls and 2 boys. We have managed to buy 20 seedlings and planted trees and we hope we shall manage to buy more seedlings in case we get blessed with money.
As our Country is going through a very rough time, we hope that we shall be able to keep these children in school by giving them food to avoid them going back to their dump sites.
