A Life Well Lived

Map of A LIFE WELL LIVED S.K Macharia is a common name in Kenyan community. His life has been a life full of tragedies but yet still the tragedies were a throw to his now great accomplishments. In the memorably years, he was a student in the United States he would come from school then go and sleep at the streets since he had no place to call a home. But with a help form a good Samaritan he got a chance in the states of America. Years later he came back to Kenya full of great craving to give what he had,. He had a lot knowledge and wanted so much to change the media face of Kenyan by then who would hardly air the country struggles. But his dream was still alive after his sentence he came back with a blow.He opened his own station and also royal Media services that promotes the Kenyan culture. He has also created a lot of employments to the unemployed and really promoted Kenyan locality. He is also one of the wealthy people in Kenyan who is known for charity work. S.K Macharia is a good example and a mentor to many. Read more.

Spotlight On Health

Map of SPOTLIGHT ON HEALTH The thousands of death that did occur during the drought didnot come from hunger, but from diseases which spread rapidly because of lack of water. cholera has been endemil in the region since the 1480s but with the drought it spread and increased through out the region killing hundreds of people. Map of SUPPORTING THE VULNERABLE ELDERS The high prices of sugar in the country forced thousands of people to stop consuming sugar.Since sugar remains an essential item for the old people The are member of parliament Bamunanika bought twenty bags of sugar and gave out two kilos to every old person above 60 years who cannot offer to win a daily bread. Changing Waves

Map of changing waves Dimare is and has been idle for about years but this idleness has seen him engage in drugs and abuse of substances.He will use every local drug around him.When i asked him why he is into drugs he said he feels good when he uses them.But Jabe with their art (dance) are fighting to bring him back to his senses.But i keep asking myself if they will succeed. A Cushioning For The Infected

Map of A CUSHIONING FOR THE INFECTED My wife Robai Muhonjia is HIV infected and a member of Jisaidie Support Group in Kakamega North district. The Group was formed on the premise of poverty alleviation and to trace avenues of enhancing the productivity capacity and self uplifting/ independance among its members. If members realize their own potential and discover ways through which they can become self reliant, the community becomes stronger and can move several steps towards development. This Group has indeed tried. For members like my wife who is infected arrangements have been made to bring in counselors who teach them and encourage them on how to live positively. This has given most of the members in that category to live for as long as 20 years and more as they keep to the requirements in managing the situation. Read more.

Restoration Of Hygiene

Map of Restoration of hygiene In the lake region of kenya,communities boardering the lake have been faced with a big problem of water -borne disease s.This is due to the poor sanity condition as a result of shortage in pit latrin.The local have been using the same lake water for domestic purpose.As a result ,there has been a rampant spread in waterborne diseases. In the event of such an occurence the local have been greatly affected as as their economic productivity was being lowered children had a big problem attending school en thus they did not. It was this that a group of youth,called the lake victoria sunset birders set out to build pit latrines for communities around the lake .The educated the locals on how to effeciently use the eco-friendly pit latrine and this has seen a great hygienic improvement in the region.
