Winter is coming and logistical preparations for CERI’s 2011 Boot Mission are on schedule. The ship carrying the boots has recently reached the port of Odessa in Ukraine. After passing through customs, the boots will be transported to a warehouse where they will be stored until teams of volunteers arrive in December anxious to deliver and fit them to the feet of needy Transnistrian orphans! Our teams will visit twenty-three children’s facilities, with a combined population of2,964 children.
As always, we need generous partners who share our concern for these children and have a passion to ensure that frostbite is not one of the many things they have to suffer from this winter. To date we have raised $40,000 of the $93,000 needed. We celebrate this progress, but at the same time, only a few months remain in which to raise the balance of $53,000.
Each pair of boots costs $25 from start to finish to have them manufactured, shipped, and then actually delivered by volunteers to the feet of a child. Please consider how you help CERI meet this basic need for these children.
