Little girl with boots
Children's Emergency Relief International's (CERI) Kids 'n Boots 2012 campaign is well underway, and we are so grateful for your support! Very soon, teams of CERI volunteers will leave the U.S. to outfit every institutionalized orphan living in Moldova* with brand new winter boots, warm socks and hand-knit hats and scarves! By Thanksgiving, CERI must finalize the purchase of 7,300 pairs of winter boots! Your gift will help us reach our goal.
For over a decade, teams of U.S. volunteers have traveled overseas to personally outfit orphans in Moldova with a new pair of boots and warm socks. Donning their new footwear, orphans are invited to select their very own hats and scarves, made especially for them by a team of loving CERI friends. This serves as a fital component of CERI's boot mission, as it is the only time many of these children ever get to pick anything out for themselves.
This December, CERI teams will fit over 7,000 orphans with new boots, hats, and scarves in order to protect them against frostbite and winter illnesses, as Moldova remains the poorest country in all of Europe. We are also excited to announce that this year, ALL winter boots will be purchased from a factory in Moldova, helping working families and the local economy of this struggling nation!
Thank you again for supporting this worthwhile project! A $25 gift will purchase and deliver one pair of boots and warm socks to an orphan in need.
*Moldova is a small, former communist country located between Ukraine and Romania.
