By traveling through Africa, our team has observed the poor quality of most donated wheelchairs. By addressing the root of the problem: the lack of funding, Worldwide Mobility provides a solution. In Tanzania, several wheelchair workshops produce quality wheelchairs and with funding from Worldwide Mobility, will be able to tackle their list of people who need wheelchairs but cannot pay.
If we provide quality mobility aids to disabled people, the risk of the development of potentially fatal secondary conditions descreses, and they are able to rejoin society.
Total Funding Received to Date: $0
This project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Project Report" tab as they become available.

This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
This project will enable 100 people to have appropriate, high quality wheelchairs that can withstand the African terrian.
Worldwide Mobility provides the support necessary to empower the local workshops that produce high quality chairs but lack funding.
