We are building the first operational WaterBrick school for 350 children that will eliminate their current 9 mile walk to school. Building communities one village at a time.
Schools are very limited in Mkuze, a village of 50,000, and because of the time in transit, only boys currently attend school. The girls must spend time fetching water for the village. The local school will enable both boys and girls to attend school for the first time, and prevent the dangers to the children that have occurred on their current nine mile journey.
Build an eight classroom school building (223 ft long by 22.5 ft wide) with electricity and other amenities including a playground for the children.
In conjunction with a second WaterBrick Project - the Communal Village, this project will lay the foundation for the Mkuze village to develop economic self-reliance.
