At the moment malaria treatments are given out to every patient who shows symptoms of malaria even though they may be suffering from some other diseases. Malaria continues to be a major community health problem in Omilling Boma, and is one of major causes of morbidity and mortality in the community. Women are trained on how to treat insecticide- treated mosquito net with the aim of reducing the mortality risk because of getting malaria. (view small | med | large | orig)

In Omilling Boma Sudan - one mosquito net can be shared by 5 children to avoid mosquito bite which is the main source of malaria. This solution was introduced by Red Cross volunteer who visited Onura earlier this year when he came with an NGo to install a water pump at newly built health-care post.
