Summary
Providing business training, consulting services and access to credit to 300 micro entrepreneurs in zones of extreme poverty in Guatemala.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Acción Emprendedora is a non-profit organization, dedicated to the promotion and development of micro enterpreneurs in impoverished urban areas, through the process of formation, financing, and accompanying consulting services, as well as access to technology and technical support. AE’s classes equip micro entrepreneurs with the skills to participate actively in the economic development of their community and country, promotes productivity, creates jobs, and energizes youth.
How will this project solve this problem?
Thanks to the courses that we offer for free in municipalities, vocational training centers, and marketplaces, our micro entrepreneurs can increase their income by up to 40%, providing employment in their community as their businesses grow.
Potential Long Term Impact
In one year, AE will train up to 300 micro entrepreneurs so that they may make the most of their businesses, increasing their income and generating employment in their surrounding community.
Project Message
“Mostly I want to thank them, because our eyes were veiled. We thought our business was doing well, but when we started calculating everything, our costs, our investment… it was very eye-opening”
- Veronica Colindres, Micro entrepreneur
